For many, it is often much easier to remember the bad experiences in our lives, rather than the good. When unfortunate things happen to us, we tend to spend a significant amount of time and energy on thinking about what went wrong.
By taking the time to increase our experience and depth of gratitude, we can start to balance out these negative thoughts. When we focus on the right thoughts, memories, and feelings from our lives, we can begin to gain numerous positive benefits and opportunities that further enrich our lives.
Genuinely feeling grateful in your heart, and choosing to articulate it through your words and your actions, you’ll be able to grow beyond your self-imposed limits and achieve a life of greatness and happiness. Being able to put your problems into perspective and find the good in every situation will help to keep you grounded and encourage you to nurture those in your life that you love.
Everything in the universe is made from energy. Energy vibrates. Our emotions vibrate at particular frequencies. Gratitude has one of the highest vibrational frequencies of all our emotions. Right up there with love, peace, and joy.
When you feel gratitude, you're vibrating at that higher frequency and with the law of attraction, similar frequencies are drawn together. Therefore, the more you feel gratitude towards something that you want, the more you draw it toward you.
The more time you can spend in gratitude, the more your body’s frequency raises and the healthier your body becomes. You also have more energy, happiness, and fulfillment.
In the same way that you can choose to be optimistic or pessimistic, you can also choose whether or not you are going to be consciously grateful for your life.
When you practice gratitude, you're actively choosing to have a more positive perspective on life. When you learn to focus on things you have to be grateful for, you can gain greater happiness and experience a better quality of life. All it takes is you actively changing your outlook.
Some days, it will be hard to choose gratitude, but those are the times when you most need it. On 'those days', when you're feeling sad, hopeless, painful, blue, you're frequency is pretty low. Since the feeling of gratitude has a high vibrational frequency, it will raise your vibration on those 'bad days' and help you rise above those negative emotions.
Amplify your intention statement with gratitude. Since gratitude is a very high vibration feeling, adding it to your intention statement makes it that much more powerful.
For more information on how to write an intention statement, check out this article.
Once you've written your intention statement, go back and add a few words of gratitude to the beginning. Choose something to be grateful for that is relevant to your intention statement.
When you read your intention statement out loud, you immediately raise yourself to a higher frequency with the first few words. The rest of your intention statement is put out to the universe with that higher frequency.
If you're in a particularly difficult slump and are finding it hard to find something to be grateful for that's relevant to your intention, choose something simple to be grateful for. It can be as simple as, "I'm grateful for the sunshine today," or "I'm grateful that I have food in my fridge," or "I'm grateful that I have two hands and two feet."
Choosing ANYTHING to be grateful for when you can't think of anything relevant to your intention will get you started on the right path. Because when you feel the least grateful is when you most need to find something to be grateful for.
